This album was written with the intention to shed light on some of the more personal, difficult aspects of living with mental health issues and to hopefully provide some form of cathartic relief to anyone who may be experiencing similar struggles.
Although a lot of the stigma surrounding this topic is starting to fade, there are still those who find talking about mental health issues uncomfortable. This ‘uncomfortableness’ can, unfortunately, mean that a lot of people experiencing these problems stay silent – which as a result, can end up causing more damage.
I want to stress that my intention is not to induce sadness with this album, more to provide a sense of emotional intimacy and ‘relatable-ness’ between the listener and me.
I hope that by showing a more vulnerable side of myself - talking openly and honestly about the things I find difficult – others facing similar issues can find some reprieve and hopefully feel more comfortable to talk about their experiences too.
